Finca Vida Verde
In 2009 Matthew Human realized his dream of living the simple life when he joined some friends in forming a community in the mountains of Costa Rica. The project, known collectively as Collectivo Tacotal (or just Tacotal), is a consensus based ecovillage encompassing over 50 acres along a pristine river in the central-pacific region of the country. Core tenets of the community include: non-violence, radical self-expression, and permaculture design. Members include professional musicans, film producers, artists, builders, engineers, biologists, and educators to name a few.
In 2011 Human broke ground on what would become the beginning of Finca Vida Verde, his own permaculture education and retreat center within the larger community. He invites guests to come and stay to learn or occasionally rent out his self-built hand made jungle community house.
